Ezra just so happened to see her Facebook post one afternoon, and being the kind-hearted person he is, he donated to the LLS. Caitlin emailed him personally to thank him for the donation, and to mention a fundraiser she would be hosting soon in Cambridge. She definitely scoped him out on Facebook before mentioning the event, just to make sure he was cute enough to invite. Thankfully he was much cuter then his profile picture at the time. Ezra also checked her Facebook profile as well, to see how cute she was and what she was up to.
E-mails were exchanged back and forth a few times, and thanks to Facebook, Caitlin was able to learn he was a pilot who was currently training with a new company in Atlanta. Ezra saw she was currently living in Boston, and knew he didn't want to live in Atlanta after training was finished. Both Caitlin and Ezra knew it would be a long shot for Ezra to make the fundraiser. A pilot's schedule can be constantly changing, and Ezra being 900 miles away didn't make it any easier.
Low and behold Ezra was able to get the weekend off and make the trip to Boston. He showed up with a great wingman, Mark LaVoie, and he was looking pretty confident. They did get a chance to chat some and say hello, but the event kept Caitlin so busy as host they didn't get a long opportunity to chat until the end of the evening, when we exchanged phone numbers and the rest is history!
The Proposal: Ezra and Caitlin went on an impromptu road trip in October. They decided to rent an RV and travel from Pheonix to San Francisco, visit some national parks, and do some hiking. First stop: the Grand Canyon. Ezra popped the question while watching the sunset over the canyon.
Together: We have come to enjoy challenging ourselves together with running, competing in triathlons, biking, hiking...just about anything outdoors really...and experimenting in the kitchen. Most recently, we have been spending some free time looking for a house to purchase for our future family!
